Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has conducted a coordinated and timely cooperation with international forcers to help maintain peace and tranquility in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Qashqavi made the remarks in response to recent allegations by British Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York John Sawers.
Qashqavi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran from the very early stages of war in Afghanistan and Iraq spared no efforts towards peace and stability in those countries.
Iran has played active role in various international conferences and seminars on Afghanistan and Iraq and has always called for the need to maintain peace and stability in those countries.
Top Iranian officials have repeatedly asserted that Iran was never involved in the attacks launched against US and British forces in those countries and there is no evidence to prove the claim, he said
