Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Monday called for implementing the agreements which have been signed among the member states of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Mottaki made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the 18th foreign ministerial meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran.

He said that once the agreements are implemented, the level of commercial ties among ECO members could increase.

Mottaki also referred to operation of container and passenger train services on the Istanbul-Tehran-Islamdbad, Almaty-Bandar Abbas and the Islamabad-Kerman-Istanbul routes.

The minister added that the said routes will play a key role in free flow investment and commodities and the movement of people residing in the region.

Given the region's potentials in the fields of industry, agriculture, science, hygiene, transportation, energy and tourism, he added such potentials should be tapped in near future.

Mottaki cited the volume of trade among ECO member states as meager and called for increasing the figure in the future
